Wow these 3 days have been fantastically tiring and exciting for me. Yes you got it right as can be refered from the title, I've been participating in the Robo Grand Prix organized by Temasak Polytechnic and it is held at the Singapore Motorshow 2004. It was actually a 4 day kind of event but the first day we didn't have to go because it was for the secondary school category. Anyway let me do a large recap of the activities during these 3 awesome days.
Day 1( 17 November 2004 ):
Was pretty much excited about going to the Singapore Motorshow 2004 for the first time. Supposed to be like lots of cars and stuff and girls. Anyway there were much more than that, there were even X-Boxes there for all to play, so cool. We had our F1 Master Track qualifiers during that day. We did spend some time wondering around taking pictures but my dang camera just ran out of battery so too bad. I had to like take some with my phone but the pictures did turn out pretty cool. Tried out the expensive food and was so darn freaked out at the cost! So expensive. We managed to qualify for the finals on friday and on the spot signed up for the Trophy Challege Dual Track race as well. So we'll be back for the next day.Also, we discovered there was another level of more cars. We went to go grab all the free stuff such as bags and catalogues, pocket calendars and many many more.
Day 2( 18 November 2004 ):
The day started out pretty fine just that we did not have time to test out the program for the dual track. Anyway luckily the boss(Alpha Innovation Head Guy)managed to like give us sometime to go try it out. It was a tough fight because our competitors got other JCs and the ITEs.My team Boltz didn't managed to qualify but our other team Nutz managed to get to the finals so good job team, at least Boltz got a merit award(And the racer was borrowed so thanks to our benefactors for enabling us to get the merit). Then we went to play more X-box games and managed to get the huge red Madza bag. But sad thing is we busted a sensor somehow and it kinda demoralized us a lot.So we were like wondering how we're gonna fight it out for the finals tomorrow.
Day 3( 19 November 2004 ):
Finals are today. So glad managed to have the sensors repaired on time. It was quite nervous because we're like competing with the very best and we were pretty much jittery. The F1 Master track race was first and boy did we do badly for it. Out for 4 tried we managed to only score one timing and the time for that race was bad too. Very high and we were easily beaten by the ITE Macpherson people. We were initially like 2nd and got slowly pushed down to 5th. Then came the dual track which was so darn fixed. The ITE people were practically like working amongst themselves. Out of 4 teams, 3 of them were the ITE people, Macpherson and Tampines. So yea they kinda manupilated the whole thing and we nearly got 2nd but lost that position to get a 4th. Then after the champions of the champions matched came the prize giving ceremony. We were happy to be able to win 3 trophies each as well as 3 trophies for the school.(4th position for the Trophy Challege[Nutz team], 5th position for the F1 Master Track[Nutz team], 7th position for the Trophy Challenge[Boltz]). So the day ended pretty well again. Managed to have a good time, visit the Singapore Motorshow 2004, playing X-box games, and win lots of stuff.
